This outfit made me once again recall how much I am annoyed with the fact that the plus size industry is still not up to date when it comes to serving fashion. The new Japanese trend, which mainly contains clean styles with Japanese inspired cuts and details, is as good as untraceable. Of course, the look isn’t nearly as commercial as the 70’s trend but it is still there and thanks to fashion forward companies such as Mango and Zara clearly visible, except for the plus size fashion market. Withal this trend is serving so many beautiful clothes. Pleating, Origami inspired drapes, mao collars, kimonos, obi belts, high side slits… all these details are perfect requirements for wonderfully modern and cool clothing.
I often read that others like the challenge to create an outfit on the newest trends based on the poorly given offerings in plus size industry. But I just can’t comprehend this. This doesn’t mean that others shouldn’t feel this way. It is their right to feel about the current situation however they want and who am I to question that? It is just that I am rather feeling frustrated about this situation than feeling motivated. I undergo weeks of frustration because I desperately want to have a new outfit which is nowhere to find. I am really sick and tired of searching and searching only to remain unsuccessful… and picking up a trend halfheartedly because the good stuff is again not available in plus size is simply against my fashion competence. I finally want things to change. I want to buy clothes which aren’t lacking a fashion demand of fashion forwards such as Zara. I don’t want to make a compromise anymore. I want to experience equal treatment in the fashion world. ME and YOU, we are worth it and we should insist on it by not accepting every crap being offered to us!
Dieses Outfit hat mir mal wieder in Erinnerung gerufen wie sehr es mich nervt, dass der Plus Size Markt modetechnisch immer noch nicht up-to-date ist. Der japanische Trend der in erster Linie aus cleanen Teilen mit der aus Japan inspirierten Schnittführung besteht ist sozusagen unauffindbar. Natürlich ist dieser Look nicht so kommerziell wie das 70’s Thema aber dennoch ist es da und dank fashion- forward Unternehmen wie Mango und Zara in der Modewelt auch deutlich sichtbar. Dabei gibt dieses Thema so viele tolle Kleidung her. Faltenwürfe, Origami- inspirierte Drapierungen, Mao-Krägen, Kimonos, Obi-Gürtel, hohe Seitenschlitze… alles Details die Voraussetzung für wundervolle moderne und coole Kleidung bilden.
Ich lese oft bei anderen, dass ihnen die Herausforderung gefällt ein Outfit nach dem neuesten Trend zusammenzustellen obwohl es in der Plus Branche oft keine vernünftigen Angebote gibt. Ich kann das aber absolut nicht nachvollziehen. Das heißt natürlich nicht, dass ich das schlecht heiße. Wenn andere so empfinden, dann ist das deren gutes Recht und das werde ich auch nicht in Frage stellen. Nur mich frustriert es eher als das es mich motiviert. Ich durchlebe Wochen der Frust weil ich unbedingt ein neues Outfit haben möchte, aber es mal wieder nichts Anständiges zu kaufen gibt. Mir macht es keinen Spaß mir einen Wolf zu suchen nur um am Ende doch nichts zu finden… und einen Trend nur halbherzig aufgreifen weil es die guten Sachen in Plus Size nicht gibt sehe ich nicht ein. Das widerspricht einfach meiner modischen Kompetenz. Ich will endlich, dass sich etwas ändert. Ich will Kleidung kaufen, die dem modischen Anspruch eines Zaras in nichts nachsteht. Ich will endlich keine Kompromisse mehr machen müssen. Ich will endlich gleiche Behandlung erfahren. ICH und DU, wir sind es Wert und wir sollten darauf bestehen in dem wir nicht mehr jeden Mist annehmen!
